Taylo r is the Director of the Pepper Institute on Aging and Public Policy\, Flo rida State University\, and a sociologist\, gerontologist\, and demographe r specializing in the areas of physical and mental health\, life course di sadvantage\, population aging\, and family dynamics. Dr. Taylor's research primarily examines processes of advantage and disadvantage across the lif e course and their implications for health in older adulthood. She is also an elected fellow of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA).\n\n  \n \n \n \n \n  \n\n \n\n  \n \n \n  \n\n Panelist: Paul Holyoke is the Executive Direc tor of SE Research Centre. Dr. Holyoke’s research interests include people ’s experiences with the Canadian health system\; evaluation of health care policies\, programs and systems\; the governance and management of health care organizations in Canada\; and societal perspectives on health\, heal th care\, illness and disability. From 2005-2011\, Dr. Holyoke served a 6- year term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Waterloo-Wellington Local Health Integration Network\, and he chaired its Community Council. \n\n  \n \n \n \n \n  \n\n \n\n  \n \n \n  \n\n Panelist: Janice Keefe is a Professor in the Department of Family Studies and Gerontology and Director of the No va Scotia Centre on Aging at Mount Saint Vincent University. Dr. Keefe cur rently leads three Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR)-funded res earch teams: one projecting human resources needed to care for the older C anadians over the next 30 years\, another with caregivers of spouses with cognitive impairment\, and a third exploring differences in nursing home c are model innovations.\n\n  \n \n \n \n \n  \n\n \n\n  \n \n \n  \n\n Panelist: Emily Šaras is a PhD Candidate and Instructor in Sociology at Florida State Univ ersity and the CEO of Knowli Data Science\, a women-owned data science\, a nalytics\, and consulting firm. She creates innovative data science soluti ons that communicate actionable insights for leaders in public health and education. Her areas of research and analysis include education\, public h ealth\, early-career workforce inequalities\, and strategic interventions that support racial-ethnic minorities in STEM and college students facing food and housing insecurity.\n \n \n \n\n\nConnect2Learn\n\nThis is the first Connect2Learn session of the 2022-23 Training Year.
