To receive details to enter the event\, please register.\n \n\nFeatured Speaker\n\nDiego Alburez-Gutierrez\n\nHead of the Kinship Ine qualities Research Group\, Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research\n \n\n\nDr. Diego Alburez-Gutierrez leads the Independent Research Group on Kinship Inequalities at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR) in Germany. He received his PhD in Demography and Population Studi es (2018) and his MSc in Social Research Methods (2014) from the London Sc hool of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In 2019\, he was honored by the Max Planck Society with the Otto Hahn Medal for outstanding scientifi c achievement for his PhD thesis 'Beyond excess mortality: the demographic life of a Mayan community after a war of massacres'. In 2022\, Dr. Albure z-Gutierrez received the BSPS Early Career Award from the British Society for Population Studies and\, in 2023\, he received the European Demographe r Award from Population Europe. He is best known for his work combining fo rmal demography and empirical data to study intergenerational family proce sses.
