Dr. Anila Asghar, DISE, and Abdullah Najjar are looking for undergraduate students for their study that seeks to explore the relationship between scientific thinking, feelings about science, and achievement in science.

This work will help to develop ways to assist teachers to effectively support the engagement and achievement of students in science.

The study involves completing questionnaires and engaging in an online game about science concepts and taking multiple-choice tests at the beginning and the end of the learning sessions.

The Clinical Exercise and Respiratory Physiology Laboratory (CERPL) and the Movement Technologies and Innovation (MOTION) Laboratory, in collaboration with Lululemon, are seeking female volunteers for a research study investigating whether breast reduction surgery impacts breathing and biomechanics during exercise.

The study is looking for 16 healthy women who are planning to undergo breast reduction surgery and are able to walk, jog, and run on a treadmill.

Harm Reduction and Naloxone Training Workshops

Canada in general, and Montreal specifically, have been facing a drug toxicity and fatal overdose crisis for nearly a decade. While integrated systems of interventions are necessary to address drug-related harms, the use of naloxone has been a key strategy to reduce the acute effect of opioid-involved deaths. Currently, �� does not offer naloxone trainings to the campus community, limiting students’ ability to assist in the event of an overdose.

The Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education's Dr. Celena Scheede-Bergdahl was interviewed by CBC for an article, "Prehab' before surgery speeds up patient recovery, review suggests" regarding how pre-op exercise, nutritional changes, and psychological support could reduce complications. Dr. Scheede-Bergdahl commented she sees high rates of participation in prehab at Montreal General Hospital's surgery program. "We're capturing them in a teaching moment," Scheede-Bergdahl said.
