ECR Position Description
- Elected position, elected in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th year of appointment
- Term of 2 years (may renew for 1 term if still in first 5 years of appointment throughout second term)
- Commitment of 55hrs per year including the following:
- Presence of 10hrs per year of meetings with the DOM council
- Presence of 5hrs per year of adhoc meetings with the DOM exec committee where issues pertaining to Early Career Faculty will be discussed
- Primary responsibility of planning of the yearly new faculty orientation session with support of DOM staff/Chair/Associate Chair (10 hrs per year)
- Participate in mentorship working group to develop, implement, review, and improve the DOM-wide mentorship program (5 hrs per year)
- Ad hoc participation with DOM-led initiatives where early career physicians鈥� perspectives may be needed (e.g. rising star program, DOM research symposium) (5 hrs per year)
- Regular email communications with early career physicians to inform them of DOM council/exec committee decisions pertaining to early career physicians including Early Career Corner in DOM newsletter (e.g. q 2 monthly) (5 hrs per year)
- Regular surveys conducted with early career physicians to obtain their opinion on priorities and specific needs; sometimes requested by other members of the DOM council (5 hrs per year)
- Be responsible to monitor and answer a聽dom.ecp [at] mcgill.ca聽inbox dedicated for early career physicians if they have questions about the DOM (10 hrs per year)
