Strengthening cycling infra structure plays a central role in this shift\, contributing to the reducti on of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions\, the improvement of urban quality of life\, and the promotion of more active and inclusive modes of transporta tion.\n\nThe Bieler School of Environment at şÚÁĎÉç\, the McGil l Sustainable Growth Initiative\, and VĂ©lo QuĂ©bec invite you to save the m orning of Tuesday\, September 30\, 2025\, for an event dedicated to sharin g the findings of the ACCEPTER research project—a project developed by pro fessors Kevin Manaugh (şÚÁĎÉç) and Owen Waygood (Polytechnique MontrĂ©al) a imed at promoting sustainable urban mobility through cycling and reducing GHG emissions from car use. The morning will conclude with a keynote lectu re by Dr. Meghan Winters\, Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. The afternoon (by invitation only) will continue with breakout workshop sessions for collaborative reflection\, the develop ment of policy recommendations\, and early planning for a major partnershi p grant proposal under the NSERC Alliance Advantage program.\n\nThis resea rch project\, funded by the Fonds de recherche du QuĂ©bec – Nature et techn ologies (FRQNT)\, aims to advance sustainable urban mobility through cycli ng by addressing the environmental\, social\, and health challenges associ ated with car dependence.\n\n\n Date: Tuesday\, September 30\, 2025\n Time: 8:15 AM – 12:30 PM (Presentations) | 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Workshops)\n Locati on: Armstrong building\n 3420 McTavish\, Montreal\, QC\, H3A 3L1\n Room 365/ 370\n\n\n\nAgenda\n\nMORNING\n\n8:15 – 9:00 AM: Welcome breakfast\n\n9:00 AM: Opening remarks\n\n9:00 – 10:30 AM: Presentations by students and rese archers (explore agenda)\n\n10:30 – 10:45 AM: Break\n\n10:45 – 11:45 AM: C ontinued presentations by students and researchers\n\n11:45 AM – 12:30 PM: Keynote lecture by Dr. Meghan Winters\n 'From Research to Policy: Promotin g Active Transportation in Canadian Cities'\n View slides | Watch on YouTub e\n\n12:30 PM: End of morning session\n\nAFTERNOON\n\n(by invitation only) \n\n12:30 – 1:30 PM: Lunch\n\n1:30 – 3:15 PM: Workshop sessions\n\n3:15 – 3:30 PM: Break\n\n3:30 – 4:30 PM: Workshop sessions (continued)\n\n4:30 – 6:30 PM: Networking cocktail\n\n\nMorning presentations (9:00 – 10:30 AM | 10:45 – 11:45 AM)\n\nBLOCK 1: What is the state of cycling today?\n\nElla Osdoba – The evolution of the Montreal cycling network (French)\n View sli des | Watch on YouTube\n\nHamed Naseri – Impact of cycling infrastructure on travel mode choice and GHG emissions (English)\n View slides | Watch on YouTube\n\nZahra Zarabi – Behaviour change towards cycling: who’s at which stage?
