News | David Bujold (C3G) appointed Co-Lead of GA4GH Discovery Work Stream

The has announced new leadership across several initiatives, including the appointment of and Bioinformatics Manager at , as Co-Lead of the Discovery Work Stream. GA4GH is a not-for-profit alliance uniting the international community to advance human health through the responsible sharing of genomic and health data.

Bujold will serve alongside fellow Co-Leads Nara Sobreira (Johns Hopkins University) and Miro Cupak (DNAstack). In this role, he will guide the global community of researchers and clinicians working to improve alignment of GA4GH standards and projects, ensuring they are practical, interoperable, and widely adopted.

Bujold has been a longstanding contributor to GA4GH, notably in the development of metadata standards and the Beacon project, with a focus on privacy and interoperability. 鈥淭he Discovery Work Stream has always been about connecting dots鈥攂etween standards, projects, and people,鈥 said Bujold. 鈥淚 am excited to help improve alignment across GA4GH and beyond so we can build a more connected and accessible future for data sharing.鈥

The addition of Bujold and other new Co-Leads across GA4GH will:

  • Enhance responsible data-sharing practices across research and healthcare.
