Misrepresentations of Eating Disorders in the Media

Wednesday, January 27, 2021 15:00to16:30
Misrepresentations of Eating Disorders in the Media

Join the EDRSC for our SSMU Mental Health Action Week event: a panel discussion on E.D.s, their intersection with race, gender, and sexuality, and the lack of/misrepresentation of these intersections in popular culture.

This event aims to prioritize intersectional experiences with eating disorders and race, gender, and sexuality. We hope to shed light on the misrepresentation of eating disorders/disordered eating in the media, the impact of stereotypes, and barriers to accessing treatment.
