This workshop will cover the proces s of preparing your first academic publication.Learning ObjectivesWe will focus on questions like:• the differences between a seminar paper\, a conf erence paper\, an article\, and a book chapter• how much time to set aside • selecting a journal• hearing from reviewers• dealing with rejection• inc orporating reviewer feedbackInstructionsCome to the workshop with a piece of scholarship in mind that you might want to publish\, and I’ll help you begin the process.N.B. We will focus on single-authored publications\, whi ch are most common in the social sciences and the humanities\, though some of the information may be useful for students in other fields.Facilitator This workshop will be led by Dr. Amanda Perry who holds a PhD in Comparati ve Literature from New York University.
