In this seminar\, two-dimensional along-wind ran ge–height observations of a population of shallow cumuli (with and without precipitation) from a 35-GHz scanning cloud radar at the Southern Great P lains\, Oklahoma will be presented. Observations from scanning precipitati on radars provide the larger-scale context of the cloud field and highligh t the advantages of the cloud radar to detect numerous small non-precipita ting cloud elements. A new Cloud Identification and Tracking Algorithm (CI TA) was developed to track cloud elements. Following CITA\, the temporal e volution of cloud-element properties (number\, size\, and maximum reflecti vity) and their connection with the environment will be presented. The adv antages and disadvantages of cloud tracking will also be discussed.\n DTSTART:20160406T183000Z DTEND:20160406T190000Z LOCATION:Room 934\, Burnside Hall\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0B9\, 805 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Student Seminar: Paloma Borque URL:/meteo/channels/event/student-seminar-paloma-borqu e-255086 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
