So why d o some neurons die\, while others are resilient to the same injury or cond ition? Our lab uses the retina as an approachable system to investigate th e cellular mechanisms that underlie type-specific resilience to axonal dam age. I will introduce how we have been using single-cell genomic approache s to parse how different retinal cell types are affected by injury and how they respond to different interventions. Our work reveals endogenous mech anisms that support neuronal survival and axon growth\, which can be lever aged to develop novel neuroprotective and regenerative treatments.\n DTSTART:20240430T200000Z DTEND:20240430T210000Z LOCATION:de Grandpre Communications Centre\, Montreal Neurological Institut e\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 2B4\, 3801 rue University SUMMARY:Killam Seminar Series: Molecular Mechanisms of Selective Neuronal R esilience and Axon Regeneration URL:/neuro/channels/event/killam-seminar-series-molecu lar-mechanisms-selective-neuronal-resilience-and-axon-regeneration-355154 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
