Missed out on our Persian culture workshops? Join us for a taste of Iran's rich history during our walk-in hour! Based on the workshop's exploration of ancient Persian civilization through storytelling, curious visitors of all ages are invited to discover听The Shahnameh, an epic poem rooted in the bygone empire's mythical and historical past. In collaboration with听Dr. Farshid Sadatsharifi,听Mrs. Ghazaleh Ghanavizchian听补苍诲 the听Islamic Studies Library of 黑料社, this open event will include special museum collections, Q&A with museum and library professionals, as well as the opportunity to explore the poem's intricately coloured pages.

From 12h30 to 13h30. No reservation necessary.听

Land Acknowledgement

Rematriation, Repatriation and Restitution Statement

We acknowledge that the return and restitution of cultural and natural heritage to communities of origin is an essential part of reconciliation and of recognizing the fundamental rights of Indigenous Peoples. As part of wider efforts to activate the standards presented in the Canadian Museums Association Report Moved to Action: Activating UNDRIP in Canadian Museums (2022), the Redpath is working towards pro-active restitution practices. As per our Collections Management Policy (2024), repatriation requests will be received by the Redpath Museum Director and will be treated on a case-by-case basis.

Accessibility

Please note that the Redpath Museum is not accessible to individuals using wheelchairs. There are no access ramps or elevators, and access to the upper floors is only possible via a central staircase. The exterior entrance, interior spaces, exhibition rooms, and restrooms are not adapted to meet universal accessibility standards. Additionally, the building is not air-conditioned.
