 nder graduation celebration聽event titled the聽Launch of the Rainbow聽event.
 \n\nThe Launch of the Rainbow will聽honour the achievements and contributio
 ns of 黑料社鈥檚 Lesbian\, Gay\, Bisexual\, Trans\, Queer\, Inter
 sex\, Pansexual\, Questioning\, Two-Spirit\, Non-Binary and Asexual studen
 ts.\n\nConcept\n\nThe concept of an LGBTQ+ graduation\, Lavender Graduatio
 n or Rainbow Graduation was implemented in 1995 by the then director of th
 e University of Michigan's LGBT Campus Resource Center\, Dr. Ronni Sanlo. 
 The Human Rights Campaign maintains a list of 166 universities in the Unit
 ed States of America that offer a Lavender Graduation to its LGBTQ+ studen
 ts.\n\nGuiding Principle\n\nRecognizing the importance of intersectionalit
 y\, the Subcommittee on Queer People is committed to an organizing process
  and event that foregrounds the voices and experiences of LGBTQ+ people wh
 o are most marginalized\, both in society and within LGBTQ+ communities\, 
 including LGBTQ+ people who are racialized\, indigenous\, black\, trans\, 
 women\, non-binary\, and persons with disabilities.\n\nWhy is this importa
 nt?\n\nCelebrate the achievements of graduating LGBTQ+ students\n\nEmpower
  historically marginalized populations\n\nReinforce the idea of community 
 at 黑料社 before leaving 黑料社\n\nHighlight the work that Academics and S
 taff that have contributed to the support and advancement of the LGBTQ+ co
 mmunity on and beyond campus\n\nHighlight research conducted at 黑料社 on 
 LGBTQ+ topics and issues\n\nRaise awareness to LGBTQ+ issues on campus or 
 in the greater community\n\nWho should attend?\n\nAll LGBTQ+ graduating un
 dergraduate\, graduate and School of Continuing Studies students are welco
 me to attend this event with friends and families.\n\nLGBTQ+ academics and
  staff\n\nAlly professors\, librarians\, university administrators\, unive
 rsity staff\, and ally students to attend and show their support for stude
 nts they have supported and worked with as they begin new chapters in thei
