The ºÚÁÏÉç Reads Alumni Book Club’s fall 2009 edition has arrived! Please join us for our first book club meeting, at a new time and place. Each meeting will now have an individual admission cost.

"My Life in France" by Julia Child (with Alex Prud’Homme)

Presented by Professor Nathalie Cooke

Julia Child singlehandedly awakened North America to the pleasures of good cooking with her book "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" and her television show "The French Chef." However, when she first arrived in France in 1948, she knew next to nothing about cooking.

Follow the unforgettable story of her evolution into a world-famous cook, teacher and writer in this captivating memoir – the book that partially inspired the current hit movie "Julie & Julia," starring Meryl Streep.

On this special occasion, the ºÚÁÏÉç Bookstore, 3420 McTavish Street, is offering book club members a 20% discount on all Julia Child and Julie Powell (author of "Julie & Julia") books, and on Professor Cooke's brand new "What’s To Eat? Entrées in Canadian Food History."
