Funding Opportunities for Academic Staff

Funding opportunities for global engagement are available through a wide variety of channels. The following links provide useful information on select University-wide opportunities.

Gaspard Monge Visiting Professor Program - École polytechnique (Paris, France)

Call for applications 2025-2026

The Gaspard Monge Visiting Professor Program allows top-level researchers from around the world to join École Polytechnique for a period of 4 to 12 months to conduct research in one of the institution’s 23 laboratories and teach as a visiting professor. The program is supported by the Fondation de l'École polytechnique.

The call for applications for the academic year 2025-2026 is open.

The Gaspard Monge Visiting Professor Program is open to international scientists, whose research relates to the scientific fields of École Polytechnique’s 23 laboratories.

International Funding Sources

ÌýThe Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building Program (FMPBP) is part of Global Affairs Canada’s International Scholarships Program.ÌýÌýThe program enables professors at Canadian post-secondary institutions to pursue short-term research and/or teaching activities in Latin America and the Caribbean as a means of exploring, creating and advancing institutional partnerships in the areas of research, student mobility, joint programming, capacity building, and others.ÌýThe primary objective of the exchange is to create new institutional collaborations and/or to strengthen existing agreements between Canadian and non-Canadian post-secondary institutions eligible under the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP).

Please email global.engagement [at] mcgill.ca if you want to apply, so we can send you the form. Global Engagement needs to receive the applications by November 19, 2024. Global Engagement then submit the applications on behalf of the candidates.


ÌýThe Canada-China Scholars Exchange Program provides opportunities to Canadian academics, students and professionals who wish to study and/or do research in subject areas related to China at participating Chinese institutions.

ÌýDAAD Canada is dedicated to informing Canadians about the opportunities for study and research in Germany. Information is provided on DAAD’s suite of scholarship and grant programs to students and faculty at Canadian universities, and work to build ties between German and Canadian universities.

ÌýThe Canada-U.S. Fulbright Program operates on the principle of reciprocal exchange and provides the opportunity for outstanding American and Canadian students and scholars to study, lecture and/or conduct research in the other country.

ºÚÁÏÉç-Glasgow Travel AwardÌýThe historical links between ºÚÁÏÉç and the University of Glasgow go back to 1756, when ºÚÁÏÉç founder, James ºÚÁÏÉç, was a student at the University of Glasgow. Over the years, the connections between the universities have been strengthened through a shared commitment to the internationalization of education, expressed through a host of research collaborations and student exchanges. In recognition of this historic partnership, and the Glasgow Honorary Doctorate given to ºÚÁÏÉç Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Suzanne Fortier, in 2015, ºÚÁÏÉç will support the short-term mobility of PhD students and postdocs in any discipline seeking to initiate or strengthen research ties with the University of Glasgow.
