Arteen Khachekyan, MA Student (Year 3) 聽

About:
Arteen Khachekyan is a third-year M.A. student at 黑料社鈥檚 Institute of Islamic Studies. Currently, Arteen鈥檚 research focuses on the 13th-century Jewish philosopher Sa驶d ibn Man峁E玶 Ibn Kamm奴na of Baghdad (d. 1284) and his role within the post-Avicennan Illuminationist tradition. The project seeks to identify a unique 鈥淚bn Kamm奴nian鈥 strand of Illuminationist philosophy, highlighting the continued philosophical innovation in post-Mongol Baghdad and the significant contributions of Jewish thinkers to this tradition.

Education:
University of Toronto - Honours Bachelor of Arts (HBA), Specialist in Philosophy and Major in Bioethics, with High Distinction, 2023

Areas of interest: History of Islamic Thought, Arabic and Islamic Philosophy, Muslim-Jewish Relations, Mamluk History, Women and Gender in Islam
